This position is a dual role position of programmer and researcher.
It requires candidates who have a medium level of Java programming skills combined with an interest in researching cyber topics including file-based malware analysis.
It is anticipated that this individual will spend 50% of their time researching malware methods and validating exploits.
This position is not for candidates that want to program 100% of the time.
Candidates should be:
Experienced with frequent use and application of technical standards, principles and theories.
Capable of working under general supervision and providing solutions to technical problems of moderate scope/complexity.
Have expertise to design develop, code, test, and debug java software.
Capable of working in one or several areas, such as software design, engineering evaluation or test, configuration management procedures, statistical analysis and modeling.
Be able to provide analytical support and technical advice during the conceptualization, development, and implementation phases.
Be able to performs tasks necessary to ensure the documentation of software.
Candidates should be interested in and will be expected to:
Work with file types and formats used as documents including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio), Adobe PDF, and Open Office as well as all ancillary image and archive formats.
Research and understand current cyber threats and malware as applied to various document file types.
As a developer and researcher, the individual will be expected to research and assess the impact of document-based Malware exploits.
Evaluate the impact of different types of malware exploits and provide recommendations or code changes within our codebase and architecture.
Perform benchmarking across a range of metrics including functionality and performance and doing comparative analysis with other tools and technologies.
Requires:

years experience with Java programming and development Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 2 - 4 years of experience or a Master's with 0-2 years of experience.
