Palace Entertainment is currently seeking candidates for theposition of Assistant General Manager at our Boomers Medford, New York FamilyEntertainment Center.
The Assistant General Manager will work with the GeneralManager to lead, manage, plan, direct, and control all aspects of the Park. This includes managing and directing allactivities, event and programs associated with the Park in accordance withPalace Entertainment policies and procedures and ethical business practices. Theideal candidate will be an intelligent, hardworking individual with leadershipand proven problem-solving skills and the ability to manage revenues andexpenses.
Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities:
Responsible for supervising middle managers andsupport staff and have a good understanding of which business tasks should bedelegated to a middle manager and which tasks should be handled personally.
Visit all guest areas regularly, tour andinspect the entire facility frequently during the course of shift. Maintain daily and regular interactionthroughout facility to monitor and audit all aspects of the park.
Oversee the management of all operationalfunctions of assigned revenue centers, including profitability, marketing,sales and COS, finance, growth, cleanliness, staffing, safety, proper foodhandling, risk management, and guest relations.
Responsible for accuracy and security of companyfunds including bank deposits and internal cash funds for assigned location.Maintain ticket, token, and pass/certificate control. Accountable for allPalace Entertainment cash control policies.
Ensure organizational quality standards are deliveredfor team members and revenue centers within the location.
Delegate functions together with respect toresponsibility and authority to perform the functions. Empower management teamand team members by having decisions made by responsible individuals closest tothe activity.
Responsible as directed for the development,implementation and achievement of budgetary goals.
Recommend, implement and enforce policies for assignedareas of responsibility.
Maintain regular performance appraisals forsubordinates through verbal, written and on-going review programs.
Maintain appropriate control of expenses, laborhours, operating costs, and inventory within areas of responsibility. Meetbudgeted guidelines unless approved to exceed.
Must have mechanical aptitude to identify defects, improper operationwith ability to analyze and understand the situation.
Research and recommend new products and vendorsto enhance guest satisfaction, sales, and cost control.
Ensure that facilities are maintained inaccordance with Palace Entertainment risk management and safety standards andregulations. Recommend facility andequipment improvements to achieve these standards.
Administer counseling, discipline, anddismissals as assigned Human Resources or VP-Operations in accordance withPalace Entertainment policy and state and federal regulations.
Ensure that all goods are requisitioned properlyusing appropriate documentation. Maintain appropriate inventory control ofoperating supplies.
Maintain positive vendor relations throughprofessional courtesy in compliance with Palace Entertainment Code of Ethics.
Submit expense and capital budgetrecommendations. Attend and participate in department management meetings.Conduct weekly meetings with staff to communicate necessary information andproblem solving. Conduct quarterly all-park safety and informational meeting.
Skills, Knowledgeand Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to analyze financialinformation, costs, inventory and sales to achieve maximum profit potential.Ability to articulate variances.
Managerial experience in guest service industrywith demonstrated ability to ensure guest satisfaction and ability to train andmaintain an on-going guest service delivery.
Ability to run a multi-million dollar facility
Knowledge of amusement industry standards, aswell as applicable health and safety regulations.
Knowledge of methods of establishing appropriatecontrol to ensure staff integrity and quality assurance.
Demonstrated ability to be a leadership partnerwith other managers and Palace Entertainment staff, and to direct qualityservice to guests.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple taskswith effective follow-through.
Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead staffto achieve organizational goals.
General knowledge of computers, cash register,various electronic devices, and various softwares. Cash handling experiencedesired.
Excellent organizational skills for keepingdetailed records, reports and logs.
Demonstrated ability to visually assess andevaluate safety hazards in the work place as mandated by SB-198 safetyprocedures.
Ability to communicate, develop and maintain aclose, effective relationship with vendors, consultants, colleagues, departmentmanagers, partners and the public.
Bachelor Degree
3-5 years of
experience in a guest service industry in a supervisoryor management role or an equivalent combination is preferred.
Prior experience in the amusement/theme parkindustry or high volume tourist based entertainment venue is a plus

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
